Happy New Year!

2020 was a hard year for our family. I won’t get into too many details, but we did wind up with COVID-19 in our household and that impacted everything. My oldest son has permanent lung & heart damage from the virus, and recovery has been slow. My husband and I are expecting baby number five in May.

I realized when coming here to post today that I hadn’t updated anything on this blog since 2019. That’s how much of a dumpster fire 2020 was for us.

It’s important when we have rough years to not lose perspective. 2021 is going to be guided by the word “simplify.” As such, you’ll see some changes on this site, and I’m eliminating a few projects from my plate. The posts that have been up at Activism My Way will migrate over here to this blog. I’ve also stepped down from my role at JB Dondolo. I made the decision to maintain fewer social media sites but will be keeping @Ronda_Bowen on Twitter and my author Facebook page.

My blogs Wining Wife and Just A Secular Homeschooler aren’t going anywhere. I’m looking forward to picking back up with Ronda B. Handmade – but I may roll that site back into Wining Wife. My Etsy and Facebook Group associated with the page will stay open. I also am an independent consultant with Usborne Books, and I’m excited to help you find the perfect books for your kids.

I can’t wait to share more with you about some of the changes coming, but for now, I’m going to keep things short – that whole simplifying things thing. Meanwhile, do you have a word you’re carrying with you in the new year? What is it?
