[This post was originally published in 2016. A lot has changed since then, but I’m keeping it here as a record of what all I’ve done over the years. For current info, check out my About page or Work & Projects.]

I’ve been busy over the past month. It’s been a lot of hard work, peppered with interesting plumbing issues in our basement (we had a pipe we had to get fixed – thank goodness for home warranty programs) and a visit from a batty visitor who wanted to make our kitchen his home. Nevertheless, I’ve forged forward, happy to work toward my goals.

Ronda B. Handmade

I’ve been working hard on getting things ready for the big Ronda B. Handmade launch on September 3rd. You have RSVP’d for the launch party, right? If not, take a moment to do so. The earrings that are pictured in the post photograph are going to be among the products available for the launch. You’ll also find custom children’s clothing and some fun fall items available. Those who sign up prior to the launch party will get a special discount code they can use on items available at Ronda B. Handmade.

Equanimity Magazine & J.B. Dondolo

I was interviewed by the Dallas Examiner about my work I’ve done for the fabulous Lumbie Mlambo – both for Equanimity Magazine and for the charity, J.B. Dondolo as fundraising coordinator. Although it was neat to be on the receiving end of interview questions for a change, I’m definitely more comfortable being the one to interview others. Speaking of interviewing others, I had the opportunity to speak with Frankee Razor of American Idol fame and had a great conversation with him that will be in the upcoming fall issue of the magazine. I have a few other interviews I’m working on scheduling for that issue.

Planning for the 2016 Equanimity Awards Benefit Gala is well underway. The event is scheduled for October 14, 2016 at the Addison Event Center in Addison, Texas, and our host this year is Donnie Brown. His cohost is Amy Vanderoef. This annual event raises awareness about our organization. This year, we are hoping to raise about $30,000 so we can get a sustainable clean water system installed in Igusi Hospital. We need to raise a total of around $600,000 to complete the Igusi Hospital project.

Consulting Work

It’s been a good month for my consulting work. In addition to helping Mabel Madison to build their social media presence, I’ve been working with them on the blog. I provided two blog articles and coordinated the writing of more articles in the intros series where each of the Facebook administrators introduces herself and what she likes to sew with the fabric at Mabel Madison (starting with me). I also made several items to share in the Facebook group.

  • “Meet the Team – Ronda B.”
  • “Pairing Patterns and Mabel Madison Fabrics“

I’ve been working with another client on providing content on addiction and recovery topics for his organization’s blog. I’ve also just signed a contract with a third client to write an article on the relationship between health and organic foods.

Blogs

I have things to review for Wining Wife®, including something I made for my husband. I also have a list of posts I want to get up on Activism My Way. So check for those going up in the coming days. I’ve also been working on boosting my marketing efforts for these blogs and making more connections with readers, other bloggers, and businesses/organizations in these niche areas.

Perhaps one of the more exciting things going on is the launch of a new blog later this month. I can’t wait to share this project with you. It’s happening really soon!

Books

The book on success is nearly finished. I have just been going through it for one final proofreading. I’ve also been working on Night Song again lately. I hope to have this book ready to submit to publishing houses later this year. Finally, I just started working on a children’s book about an adventurous bat.

Things Are Never Boring

As you can see, things around here are never boring! What have you been working on lately? Check out my latest work and projects to learn more about what I do.
